Dimensions Agri Technologies (DAT) AS is a Norwegian technology company that represents the future of farming. Precision farming will produce more food with fewer inputs and less impact on the environment. The DAT system reduces herbicide use by an average of 50 %, through simultaneous detection and spraying of weeds. The DAT system reduces production costs for the farmer, increases yields, and reduces environmental impact.
The Company History
Initiated by local farmers in Norway, the development of this system was quickly joined by the research institutions NIBIO (formerly Bioforsk) and SINTEF. Later the mechatronic firm ADIGO also became a partner and shareholder. DAT is currently organized as a joint effort between owners, each contributing funding, manpower, and other resources as needed.
The DAT-sensor is patented in Norway and the USA; patent pending in Europe.
